Aims & objectives
Influencing engineering development in Nigeria.
EFN is a registered charity in England and Wales (no. 1117948). These are the three aims we exist for, the five-point mission that puts them into practice, and the objective behind everything we do.
01 · Our aims
What we exist to do.
Our three charitable aims set out who the Forum serves and what it works towards.
-
A forum for Nigerian engineers in the UK
To provide a forum for Nigerian engineers based in the UK, for the purpose of promoting and influencing engineering development in Nigeria in all its ramifications.
-
Developing and mentoring young people
To promote the development and mentoring of young people from Black and ethnic minority groups, and of everyone else with an interest in the field of engineering, in the UK.
-
Any other charitable purpose
To promote any other charitable purpose within the UK, Europe and worldwide in support of these objects.
02 · Our mission
Five commitments that put our aims to work.

03 · Primary objective
To influence the development of engineering in Nigeria, in all its ramifications.
We work closely with the mainstream engineering professional bodies in Nigeria, including the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), on initiatives to influence the development of engineering in Nigeria.
For our members, that partnership opens a route to professional recognition in Nigeria without leaving the UK.
-
NSE
Nigerian Society of Engineers
The umbrella body for the engineering profession in Nigeria. EFN runs a UK route to NSE membership through the NSE Presidential interview.
How NSE registration works -
COREN
Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria
The statutory body that regulates engineering training and practice in Nigeria. EFN members can register with COREN from the UK.
How COREN registration works -
Other organisations we work with, in Nigeria and the UK.
