NSE membership through EFN
EFN has established a link with NSE to register EFN members through the NSE Presidential interview, held in the UK. Membership enables you to practise in Nigeria and to register with COREN.
About NSE
Nigerian Society of Engineers
The Nigerian Society of Engineers is the umbrella organisation for the engineering profession in Nigeria. It looks after the professional needs of members through structured programmes and regular interaction between grades of membership, upholding high professional standards and ethical practice. There are six grades of membership: Fellow, Honorary Fellow, Corporate Member, Graduate Member, Associate and Student Member.

The process
Five steps to NSE membership.
EFN handles the paperwork between you and the NSE office. Here is what you do, in order.

Hold 12 months of EFN membership
You need a minimum of 12 months’ paid-up EFN membership.

Complete the NSE application
Download and complete the NSE application form from the NSE website.

Submit through EFN
Return the form to the EFN Secretariat with your documents and fee. EFN checks and verifies everything before submitting to the NSE office.

Attend the Presidential interview
The EFN–NSE coordinator confirms your interview date after liaising with the NSE Executive Secretary. The Secretariat organises the venue and time.

What to send, and what your fee pays for.
Return your completed NSE form to the EFN Secretariat with these documents and your fee. EFN verifies everything before it goes to the NSE office.
Documents to include
- A degree or Higher Certificate from an accredited institution
- A relevant experience report (check the NSE website for the required length)
- An appropriate professional qualification — for example, Chartered Engineer status

What your fee covers
- Travel and hosting of the NSE Executive Secretary for the interview
- Your first registration with NSE, once registration is confirmed
- The interview venue

A minimum of 12 candidates is required for each interview to take place.

EFN and NSE reserve the right to refuse an applicant or cancel the interview at short notice.

Confirm your registration payment with the coordinator before paying.

If you plan to travel or cannot attend the interview, tell the Secretariat in advance, after the submission date.
Requirements may change from year to year. Always check with the Secretariat before you submit.

After NSE membership
COREN registration through EFN
NSE members can go on to register with COREN, Nigeria’s engineering regulator, at the annual June interview. Paperwork is due by the end of March.

You need 12 months’ membership first.
Both routes start with 12 months of paid-up EFN membership. Full membership includes the NSE and COREN routes, so the sooner you join, the sooner you can apply.
