Partners in building the bridge

EFN works closely with Nigeria’s mainstream engineering bodies — the Nigerian Society of Engineers and COREN — and with the government agencies and companies that have partnered with the Forum.

Ten members of an EFN delegation and their hosts stand behind a boardroom table in a meeting room with gold curtains.

Professional bodies

Nigeria’s engineering institutions

We cooperate with — and complement — the mainstream engineering bodies in Nigeria. For members, that means a recognised route to practise there without leaving the UK.

  • Professional body · Nigeria

    Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE)

The umbrella body for the engineering profession in Nigeria. EFN runs a UK route to NSE membership through the NSE Presidential interview.

    How EFN works with NSE

    • EFN organises the NSE Presidential interview here in the UK
    • Open to EFN members after 12 months’ paid-up membership
    • NSE membership lets you practise in Nigeria and apply to COREN
  • Professional body · Nigeria

Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN)

The statutory body that regulates engineering training and practice in Nigeria. EFN members can register with COREN from the UK.

    How EFN works with COREN

    • Register with COREN through EFN without leaving the UK
    • For Chartered Engineers who are full EFN members and NSE members
    • Interviews are held once a year, in June

Public sector

Federal agencies

Two Nigerian agencies whose remits — regional development and infrastructure delivery — are central to the questions our conferences address.

  • NDDC

    Niger Delta Development Commission

Federal agency driving infrastructure and development in the Niger Delta region.

  • ICRC

    Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission

Nigeria's regulator for public–private partnerships in infrastructure.

Partner with EFN

Reach engineers who connect the UK and Nigeria

Our conferences, site visits and mentoring bring engineers, researchers, investors and policymakers together. Partners help make them happen — and meet the people in the room.

  1. 01

    Sponsor the annual conference

Our flagship conference brings together the people who plan, research, design, finance and use engineered systems for Nigeria. Sponsorship helps us stage it — and puts you in the room.

  2. 02

Host a site visit or technical tour

Members have toured Sizewell B nuclear power station and Westmill Wind Farm & Solar Park. Open your site, project or facility to engineers who want to see how it works.

  3. 03

    Support mentoring of young engineers

EFN Ambassadors mentor young people from Black and ethnic minority groups and raise awareness of careers in engineering. Your support helps us reach more of them.

  4. 04

    Trade missions and industry introductions

We connect engineers, developers, investors and authorities in the UK and Nigeria, so new methods and technology reach the projects that need them.
