Student membership

For students on engineering and built-environment courses in the UK.

Student membership costs £15 per year

Nothing to pay until we confirm your category.

Once the Membership Secretary has confirmed your category, pay your membership fee by bank transfer to EFN’s NatWest account.

Professional registration

Your route to practising in Nigeria.

EFN has links with the Nigerian Society of Engineers and COREN. We check your paperwork and organise the interviews here in the UK — so you can register without leaving the country.

  1. Stage 1

    EFN membership

    Join EFN and keep your membership paid up. Full membership includes both registration routes.

  2. Stage 2

    NSE membership

    Sit the NSE Presidential interview, held in the UK. NSE membership lets you practise in Nigeria and register with COREN.

  3. Stage 3

    COREN registration

    Register with the regulator of engineering in Nigeria. Interviews are held each June; paperwork is due by the end of March.

Who can join EFN?

UK-based engineering professionals of Nigerian descent, and anyone with a demonstrable interest in the development of engineering as a profession in Nigeria. Membership also welcomes students, researchers, lecturers and allied built-environment and business professionals.

Compare membership categories

Do I need to be Nigerian to join?

No. EFN is an open, inclusive forum. If you have a commercial, academic or professional connection to engineering in the UK or Nigeria, you are welcome.

How do I pay?

Submit the application form and the Membership Secretary will confirm your category. You then pay by bank transfer, using your full name as the payment reference.

How soon can I apply for NSE or COREN registration?

You need at least 12 months of paid-up EFN membership. COREN registration also requires NSE membership first.

How can organisations get involved?

EFN works with corporate partners. If your organisation would like to sponsor an event, host a site visit or share its expertise with our members, get in touch.
