Professional registration
COREN registration through EFN
EFN has established a link with COREN so that members can register — and work and practise in Nigeria — without leaving the UK.
About COREN
Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria
COREN is the professional body that regulates and controls the training and practice of engineering in Nigeria. It ensures and enforces the registration of all engineering professionals and consulting firms wishing to practise engineering in Nigeria.

The process
Five steps to COREN registration.
EFN handles the paperwork between you and the COREN office. Here is what you do, in order.
-
Hold 12 months of EFN membership
You need a minimum of 12 months’ paid-up EFN membership.
-
Become a registered NSE member
COREN registration requires membership of the Nigerian Society of Engineers.
-
Complete the COREN application by March
Download the COREN application form, complete it and return it to the EFN Secretariat with your documents and fee by the end of March.
-
Attend the June interview
The EFN–COREN coordinator confirms your interview date after liaising with the COREN Registrar. The Secretariat organises the venue and time.
Documents & fees
What to send, and what your fee pays for.

- An appropriate professional qualification — for example, Chartered Engineer status
Check coren.gov.ng (opens in a new tab) for the current form and report requirements.
What your fee covers
- Travel and hosting of the COREN Registrar for the interview
- Your first registration with COREN, once registration is confirmed

Confirm the amount with the coordinator before you pay. Ask the coordinator
