Get involved

Put your expertise to work.

EFN is built by its members. Mentor the next generation, speak at our conferences, bring your organisation on board, help run the Forum or share your research — there is a part to play at every stage of an engineering career.

01 · EFN Ambassadors

Mentor the engineers who come next.

EFN Ambassadors mentor young people from Black and ethnic minority groups and raise awareness of careers in engineering. It is written into our aims — and it is the most direct way to pass on what you know.

What mentoring can look like

  • Share your own route into engineering, and what you wish you had known.
  • Help young people see engineering as a career that is open to them.
  • Encourage students and graduates towards professional registration.

Our aims reach further still: to encourage and support the development of engineering skills among young people in the UK and in Nigeria.

02 · Speak

Take the floor at an EFN event.

Our conferences, seminars and workshops have featured Nigerian and international professional bodies and organisations. If you have expertise that could move engineering in Nigeria forward, we want to hear it.

Our flagship conference brings together the people involved in planning, researching, designing, delivering, financing and using engineered systems — so a talk reaches engineers, investors and policymakers in the same room.

On our programme

Selected
  1. 2022 Conference Renewable energy and the development prospects for Nigeria
  2. 2021 Site visit Westmill Wind Farm & Solar Park
  3. 2017 Conference Delivering, operating and maintaining Nigeria’s infrastructure
  4. 2014 Spring Event Value engineering as an effective tool for cost management
  5. Talk The future of electricity supply
  6. Talk Financing electrification projects

What our events focus on

  • The industries and sectors that add value to the Nigerian economy
  • Job creation and capacity building
  • Policy that attracts investment into Nigeria
  • New methods and technology, and how to put them to work

03 · For organisations

Sponsor, host or open doors for our members.

EFN works with Nigerian and international professional bodies, government agencies and companies. Partnering puts your organisation in front of UK-based engineers, researchers and business professionals with a stake in engineering in Nigeria.

  • Sponsorship

    Sponsor the annual conference

Put your name to our flagship conference, which brings together the people who plan, design, deliver and finance engineered systems.

  • Site visits

    Host a technical tour

Members have toured Sizewell B and Westmill Wind Farm & Solar Park. Open your site and show engineers how it is built and run.

  • Trade missions

    Open doors to industry

Our trade missions visit iconic projects and meet providers of cutting-edge engineering technology. Host a delegation or make an introduction.

  • Corporate membership

    Join as an organisation

EFN has corporate as well as individual members. Talk to us about joining as an organisation.

Organisations we have worked with
